8ight is a guy from Copenhagen, Denmark.
A perfect system is a system aware of its own imperfection. The truly perfect system is a system which is nil and following all.

InformIT: Interview with Donald Knuth Interview with Donald Knuth

Very nice interview with the father of TeX and a myriad of other interesting projects - his take on re-usable programming is quite interesting in this age of object orientation fixation! Especially because it comes from a guy behind hugely succesful large scale open source projects. Also I learned about Edsger Wybe Dijkstra.. Good interview, recommended for the computer savvy reader.

The IBM Logo, not quite like others..
So here's a rather odd review of a logo: simply wanted to note that the IBM logo has some form of arcane computer power within it that dates back to the first PC bleeps of the early 1980s. Computer mysticism abound I say.

BetaNews, Best Place To Find Latest Updated Software
As the headline says, this is THE place for finding newest updates for various more or less known software. BetaNews is mainly a Windows place even though they also carry OSX and Linux material. Use the search function to get well laid out lists of software within the category you need (search feature takes a while getting used to but it is well worth it!).

Awesome C64 Laptop Hack
On the nerdcore front: this forum posting describes how a dude built a C64 into a portable unit that is about the same size as a PDA (ok.. kinda). When reading this I instantly started having fantasies about impressing people with my super portable 1MHz laptop (..) -if the dude succeeds in adding the SD card slot this C64 could be made to run (8bit multitasking OS).. also there's the new (2006) C64 web browser available (in a bar: "2 secs,I just have 2 check my webmail.. using less than 64Kb" (ok..so basically very few people will find this impressive.....)). Cool ;)
