A perfect system is a system aware of its own imperfection. The truly perfect system is a system which is nil and following all.

I care about Apple news the same way i cared about Second Life news; meaning not at all. It is nothing but random pro-consumerist babbling about nothing. Pure church of idiocracy.

Extremely interesting article on the, current, 2008, day, use of psychedelia in breaking out of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and other type of patterns that are generally termed mental illnesses in the West.

Best thing about this is perhaps the cache feature (Bit.ly saves a cached copy forever of every page you shorten a link to). See readwriteweb for a feature break-down :)

Lecture on Complexity by Terence McKenna

Very interesting and beautiful lecture on complexity and the eschaton (the end of everything, as studied in the subject of eschatology) as a driving point of congruence and ever higher levels of complexity - I personally only agree with about 50% of the actual content from a philosophical angle, but the sheer energy and positive resolve that McKenna puts into this lecture is so pervasive that I highly recommend it; it can only drive intelligent inquiry into what we term reality further! :)

Psilocybin; positive article in mainstream media :)

Nice article on the possible benefits to be had by imbibing a bit of psychedelia - most interesting thing is that this article is on MSNBC. Good with a bit of unbiased reporting. Must say that I'm not personally convinced of the long term viability of psychedelic drugs as a pathway towards further understanding (for myself at least). There may very well be a, 'I jumped a few steps on the ladder', backlash effect because higher levels of knowledge is infused into a lower level state of consciousness.

This effect could also create religious/epiphany-like feelings simply because that is the only way to relate to an experience so much 'above' ones current level of understanding - efficiently creating a kind of 'enlightenment' attachment that may very well be counterproductive when it comes to actually enlightening oneself.

However, these are idle musing - for some people the path of psychedelia is obviously a GREAT path so godspeed to whatever kind of path of understanding people choose - important thing is really that one IS chosen!

People become highly suggestible under stress and can basically (paraphrasing Huxley) be taught to enjoy their servitude - interesting seeing as most people in modern western society seems permanently stressed and obsessed with consumption to the point of it being ridiculous... Viva the blissfull ignorance that is systematically introduced into peoples life through mass media. NOT. Definitely a recommended podcast; highly conducive to acquiring a systematic understanding of the current day means and methods for controlling a population by manipulating their will.

This is a nice review showing how important it is for parents to lookout for the dietary habits of their kids - and how important it is for the parents to have the knowledge to do so!

Yep, -AND ALSO-, this pretty much sums up why a strong, and ideally minimal, state is needed to keep the market in check - otherwise the goals for society as a whole will be (is?) completely set by the monetary interests of the strongest corporations. And they are -very- likely to value income over health, knowledge, freedom and democracy.

This is some seriously awesome crap - it could mean the re-introduction of custom hardware in the PC; something that have gravely missing since Amiga went belly up. Go Toshiba go, bring us the promises of the future.. today! Weeeee.

Transfz 1.21 is out

Update of strangely minimalist search/clipboard application Transfz. This edition fixes a few annoying bugs and improves significantly on the internal clipboard handling of Transfz. Enjoy :)
